Sourcing of good quality germplasm by the farmers is a big question at this hour. Our farmers are facing lots of difficulties for sourcing animals and birds for their farms due to insufficient organized breeders in the state. Except broiler chicks all the inputs are mostly sourced from outside the state.
However, the Assam Livestock and Poultry Corporation is facilitating procurement of Livestock by farmers, institutions and Government Departments. The Corporation has collaborated with farmers and established linkage with organized suppliers/ producers in the state as well as outside the state.
The Corporation has facilitated the supply of Murrah & Swamp Buffaloes to ALDA, Milch Animals to AH & Veterinary Department, Government of Tripura, World Vision NGO, Pigs to different ICAR institute of NER and lots of Milch cows, Pigs & Goats to production clusters developed by the Corporation.
